Welcome to FORMA INTERIORS, where the guiding principle of "form follows function" lies at the heart of our design philosophy. We kick off our interior designs by focusing on practicality and purpose, and then we add the finishing touches that reflect our clients' personal style.
Hi! I'm Jennifer Owen, and it's a pleasure to have you join me! I'm excited to share my love for interior design with you.
THE PROCESS Each project and client is unique, so we'll craft a plan that suits your specific needs while following a general outline. You might bring us in at any stage – whether you've already enlisted an architect and contractor, or we are your starting point. Either way, we're here to adapt to your situation. Our first meeting, preferably conducted on-site, serves as the foundation. We'll gather all the necessary details to put together a comprehensive proposal outlining our services and approach.
PHILOSOPHY Great design is more than style or aesthetics; it's about understanding the essence of a client's dream and bringing it to life in ways they never imagined possible. We take a collaborative approach, working closely with the client to understand their vision, needs, and preferences. From concept to completion, we infuse every project with passion, creativity, and attention to detail. Whether it's a functional kitchen, a chic office space, or a complete home renovation, we strive to create environments that are not only visually stunning but also functional, comfortable, and reflective of the client's personality and lifestyle.
SERVICES A full service project would include code submittal plans created in cad software, 3D renders for visualization, and specifications of all finish and fixture selections. On-site meetings are included during the construction phase. Other services that involve less commitment could be color consultation, furniture layouts or hand drawn concept sketches. We meet you where you are and no project is too small. - Residential Interior Design - Commercial Interior Design - Space Planning - Concept Development - Furniture & Fixture Selection - Color Consultation - Lighting Design - Custom Millwork and Cabinetry - Renovation and Remodeling
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN AN INTERIOR DESIGNER First, let's clarify what interior design isn't: it's not mere decoration. There are many talented decorators to be found, but interior design encompasses so much more. A competent interior designer needs to have a solid grasp of building codes, whether they're tackling residential or commercial projects. Each can have different standards with commercial design requiring an additional understanding of ADA accessibility requirements. Practical know-how is indispensable along with a foundation in architecture or construction. Designers with this knowledge are set apart, demonstrating their ability to turn their design concepts into reality. They will anticipate construction limitations like tempered glass requirements, or foresee that yes, a large countertop will fit through a narrow space at installation time. Staying up-to-date is key. A good designer is always seeking out new knowledge on products and construction methods to ensure the safety and well-being of their clients. They're likely part of organizations like ASID or NCIDQ, which emphasize ongoing learning and professional standards. But let's talk about the real stand out, must have skills: Firstly, they've got to understand you. Listening is key to translating your vision into a tangible design. Secondly, they know and can apply the traditional Design Principles in crafting any style or period you desire. Lastly, they've got to be practical. Time and budget constraints are real, and a good designer knows how to work within those boundaries. Why choose Forma Interiors? We're committed to guiding you through the entire planning and selection process with confidence, knowledge and enthusiasm. In addition, we welcome collaboration with valuable professionals such as architects, engineers, contractors, and craftsman, all aimed at bringing your vision to life.
